I am trying to use LockWorkflowUnitDescendants with a non standard channel. The logic seems to allow express use of 'NoDataLock', 'AllChannelInput' and 'Standard', but for custom WF Channels, can't seem to identify how to get the GUID.'Dim wfChannelId As Guid = WorkflowChannel.Standard.UniqueID -> THis works'Dim wfChannelId As Guid = WorkflowChannel.custommadechannel.Uniqueid -> this doesnt workBRApi.Workflow.Locking.LockWorkflowUnitDescendants(si, wfClusterPk, WorkflowProfileTypes.InputImportChild,wfChannelId )
Hello, Our Organization is currently going through a Planning implementation of OneStream. We have provided a list of enhancement requests to OneStream that we feel would significantly improve the products reporting capabilities. Here is a list of the enhancement requests submitted. I am posting with hope that other customers would also benefit from these enhancements and reach out to OneStream directly to also request this functionality! You can also like ("Kudos") this post. 1. Drill Down within XFGetCell Function. (This was something that came up a lot at Splash when discussing with other customers) 2. Retain excel formatting when refreshing quick views 3. Ability to utilize the member description to pull quick views or XF functions (Today you can only user member name) 4. “Hardcode” the default Quick View POV when creating
I am trying to import data directly from an external database and store it in a temporary data table in OneStream using Vb.net code. Unsure if this needs to be achieved through extender business rule or connector business rule. A code snippet of similar implementations would be helpful.
I am looking for a business rule or function to lock and unlock workflow and then set it as scheduled task.
CubeView that was assigned to different role is still visible when the user is set to another role.Example:CubeViewProfile1 - Access Group: Role 1CubeViewGroup1.1 - Access Group: Role 1CubeViewGroup1.2 - Access Group: EveryoneCubeViewProfile2 - Access Group: Role 2CubeViewGroup2.1 - Access Group: Everyone User with Role2 is able to view CubeViewProfile1 and all of its members while user with Role1 is able to view CubeViewProfile2 under OnePlace > Cube Views. How do I hide the CubeViews in OnePlace from users who do not have the right role? Are there other configurations I need to take into consideration?
Curious if anybody knows how to accomplish something I am trying to do. We have a few DM jobs that are pretty intensive that we run over night and once that job runs it seems like the server it ran on gets bogged down and eventually that server turns red, stops responding and jobs get hung up. What I would like to do is add another step that says once my big DM is done restart that server but I don't want to force restart it in case a user is currently running on that same server. So I want to do something similar to what happens in these "recycling" options so that once it gets to the recycle server step in the DM job it stops accepting new jobs and waits until all current jobs are done running then restarts that server. Curious if anybody knows how to accomplish this or something similar that would fix my issue.
Hello, i have a scenario with a range defined (i.e :Month 3 to Month 12) , i wanna process cube only on these months from month 3 to month 12. however when i launch the process cube through the workflow profile, it executes all the periods (even the prior ones , i.e M1 & M2) , i tried to lock through a BR these two months but it didnt work... how can i process cube only on my scenario range plz ? thanks,
Hi All, I am trying to solve for a circular calculation pass with allocations. I am using the equity pick up functionality on the entity properties. It wasn't behaving for me. In reading the Design and Reference Guide I see is says " When writing formulas, use api.Args.CalculateArgs.HasRepeatCalc and api.Args.CalculateArgs.IsRepeatCalc to determine if the engine is currently running the repeat calculation". When I look at the sample code for HasRepeatCalc, it just has Dim bValue as Boolean = args.CalculateArgs.HasRepeatCalc. I am looking for a practical example of how to use this calculation. Other than that little piece in admin guide, I can't find any other information on it. Not used in the GolfStream app either. Any ideas would be welcomed.
I'm writing a business rule that will extract the original imported TB files loaded at month end for each import workflow (which may have multiple files per period), rename the file with the time, wfprofile, and load time, move all load files for all workflows to one period folder, and delete the individual wfprofile folders autocreated. I've been successful with all of the asks above, except I'm having trouble extracting the filetimestamp to insert into the new filename. I've found the desired FileTimeStamp field within the stagearchivesinformation table where the sourcefilename matches the filename extracted, but not sure how to reference that field... Any suggestions? EXTENSIBILITY RULE: Namespace OneStream.BusinessRule.Extender._BR_ExportTBLoadFiles_Period_TimeandWFPublic Class MainClassPublic Function Main(ByVal si As SessionInfo, ByVal globals As BRGlobals, ByVal api As Object, ByVal args As ExtenderArgs) As ObjectTry'DEFINE THE WORKFLOW CLUSTER USED AS THE STARTING
Hello, Is it possible to create a business rule that sends an email with an attachment where the file that is being attached is saved in the application database rather than the file share?
Hey all - I'm wondering if anyone has brought in people data (salary/bonus/commission/job type/job title/hire and termination dates/etc. and weekly/biweekly payroll files) into OneStream from Workday. From what I have heard, the payroll and salary data would live in separate tables in Workday. I'm beginning to scope out a process flow to do the aforementioned, but the initial thoughts would be to bring in salary related data to feed into People Planning and bring in payroll related data for analytics and potentially account reconciliations. The salary related data would mostly support the Finance org with budgets and forecasts. The payroll related data would mostly support the Accounting org with variance analysis at the individual person level as well as possible automation of accrual journal entry calculations. Please let me know if anyone has done something in this realm or would like me to specify anything more. Thanks!
Hi everyone, In the dashboard, I have setup my dashboard header, and linked it with the main dashboard but when I view this dashboard in different screen, the header loses it formatting. Anyone know how I can maintain the header format in different screens?
Dear community, We are now helping a client to set up a data management sequence to copy six months (T#YearM1-M6) of Actual data to Forecast. And user can start entering figures for Forecast M7-12.In Actual, data is loaded in YTD.The copy data step works, and we can see the correct consolidated data until M6.While in M7, we see data that should not be the case. When we checked the data on all the Base level entities, it showed derived data. All the other dimensions are also at the base level. And the view is Periodic. However, when we look at the Parent level entity, all the other dimensions remain on the base level and view in Periodic. The cell status shows it is "Real Data." Below is the setting for the Forecast scenario. Can someone provide an explanation for such behavior in OneStream? Please note that we did not consolidate M7 after the data copy, and the Forecast scenario had no data. Any suggestion is much appreciated! Thanks in advance! &

We are wanting to know how other government agencies are doing for their prior year financial statements. What is your solution on how to handle retroactive system changes within OneStream?
How are you managing prepaid expenses and amortizations in OneStream (OS)? Prior to OS, we were using Blackline, this tool had prepaid amortization templates that let us easily establish a monthly schedule of expenses. It contained an auto roll-forward schedule, and the system automatically amortizes over future periods. This same feature doesn't exist in OS, and I'd love to hear how your company is processing these transactions. Thank you!
TeamWhile importing data from local drive to Onestream through Import step (Load and Transform), i get an error "Global scenario member is not initialized". Can you please help:-1. Why do i need to select the data source manually everytime from local file even after uploading the file in Data Source2. How can i troubleshoot the issue "Global scenario member is not initialized" RegardsSKVK
We have subledger system change that I created new workflow substeps for, and I wanted to leave the old workflow substep out there for viewing historical loads, but not have someone have to deal with it every month from a workflow completion standpoint going forward. If I inactivate the step, it completely goes away in all years. What is a best practice for making a substep inactive, but keep it visible for history?
Hello,I have a consolidated /parent workflow where we make top-sided entries via forms and journals on rare occasion. When I book an entry through a form it causes a variance on my OOB report, I assume in the children workflows because the entries are one sided (hitting different entities in different workflows). These two lines in the form net to zero, but how can I get my OOB check to ignore or recognize this is an "unbalanced" entry from a workflow perspective?
We have a lot of Cube Views and most of them have multiple validations some of which are quite complex. We also want to use Confirmation Rules to check that these Cube View validations have been cleared. The prospect of duplicating the Cube View validations in Confirmation Rules is not pleasant so we are looking for alternatives. We were thinking of adding a summary validation to every Cube View in the same place and then (somehow) saving that single value to an account with a split on UD6 for the Cube View. That would mean the Confirmation Rules are very simple to write. The question is can you save a value calculated on a Cube View to the Cube? The FormsEventHandler only references data that has been input (happy to be corrected on that). Suggestions on how to do this or a completely different approach are very welcome. Thanks
Hi all, We are running "force calculate" step to perform force calculation of 80% base entities . It runs for 4-6 hours. How to improve performance , any way run this in multi thread/parallel by entity (servers are hosted by OneStream) ? Thanks!
How to improve the business rule performance using Parallel.ForEach() in OneStream.
Hi, we are using a Central Load workflow to load trial balances for ~1,500 entities(set up as unrelated entities). There are then approx 50 "Central Import" workflows where Entities are assigned and specific work is performed. The central load file pulls all entities and will be loaded at least daily. There are going to be cases when one workflow is certified and another still needs to be reloaded. The import, however, fails in order to avoid loading data to a certified Entity. Looking for any help on settings or BR to bypass already certified entities. Thanks
