Bulk edit dashboard frames

Is there a method or tool that can edit dashboard frames (names) in bulk? 
I would like to create a base dashboard template that would include headers, content, and footers. This would be copied & pasted to separate maintenance units and then customized for each dashboard. 

Is there a way to bulk-edit dashboard frames, or assist with copying & pasting dashboards without renaming them one by one? The only way I know of now is extracting to an XML and changing the text through notepad.

I don't believe there is anything generally available to help you with this at the moment. 

So your path of least resistance is probably xml updates via a text editor.

Please make sure to take a backup before applying changes, to provide a rollback position and take care to ensure dashboards and their embedded dashboard counterparts are consistently renamed in your updated xml.

I agree with sameburn​. The only easiest way to accomplish this would be to export the XML and rename it.
