Chart drops to zero instead of showing no data

Hi,

A dynamically calculated KPI returns "Nothing" for future months in the Actuals and therefore I expected the line in the advanced chart to stop at the current month. However, it's not doing that, instead it is dropping to zero, creating a rather undesirable effect.

I can't imagine that this is the default behavior of OneStream. Am I doing something wrong? Did I overlook a setting or is there another way to prevent the drop to zero for non-existing data?

Hi Olaf_A ,

Have you found any solution for same ? I am also facing similar issue where furture period has noDATA , but advaced chart / data adapter returns zero instead of Nodata. I have enabled all CV settings to true for suppression.

Thanks

AJ

I reported this issue to the support desk and got a reference number PF-33567. I don't think it is solved. I think they see it as a request and not a bug, which strikes me as odd, because who would want this behavior?

Anyway, you could also use BI-viewer for charts, but the BI-viewer has similar behavior. However, on a different occasion OneStream mentioned this workaround for the BI-viewer:

Drag the amount column to hidden dimensions and apply a filter to the chart as shown.

That filters out the nodata values and shows a clean chart. In this example calculated fields are used as values for the chart, but you get the idea.
