Excel add-in V9: Not able to drilldown

We recently upgraded from V7.4 to V9.1 and we’re seeing an issue with the Excel Add-In. A small group of users (about five) are unable to use the Drilldown feature (the option is completely greyed out), while the rest of our users can access it without any issues. All users have been upgraded to the 9.1 Excel Add-In and every other function appears to be working correctly.

Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have noticed that though very useful when it works, the Drilldown feature in Excel is a bit unstable. For me, when it has been greyed out or when receiving an error message when running it, the solution has always been to refresh the worksheet. It seems like the report must be newly refreshed to be able to use this feature.

When we were in v8.4, our statutory reporting users who have discovered this function LOVED it a lot - without any stability issues. A function that takes them from their normal reporting spreadsheets to the application drilldown feature without logging in directly to the application client. It was a clear winner for these set of users since implementing OS.  Now with v 9.2 and with this function randomly "unfeatured" - it will be tough sell.

SWWong - Have you implemented any work-arounds for users with the drilldown feature not functioning for GetValue formulas with cell references?  We upgraded from 8.2 to 9.2 last week and are devastated to be learning about this now.  Had asked to rollback to 8.2 but told that's not an option.

We just upgraded from 8.4 to 9.2, and suddenly whilst the Drilldown option is visible, the function no longer works ie it no longer seemed to connect to the signon application anymore.  However if you open a CV in Excel and convert the functions to xfGETCells formulas, the drilldown function works.

It would appear that it no longer able to read the cell references and needed the xfgetcells formula to have POV dimensions "hardcoded" in the formulas and not referenced to other cells 😶. this is still under investigation for us.

We've had the same experience with 9.2 and logged this as a bug with OneStream.  They are investigating and working on a fix for the next release.  They did not provide any specific timing.  A possible work-around is to create an Excel macro that converts the current XFGetCell formula to hardcode the POV members, and then you can use the drill.  Not a great long-term solution.

Did they mention a issue reference?  Its an issue for us as well, we can raise a ticket or something to help elevate the issue.
