download dimensions

Hi CMikes to download entity dimension data follow the below steps:
1. Navigate to Application
2. In the tools section at the bottom select load/extract
3. File type - metadata
4. Remove all selection then click arrow for dimensions
5. Select Entities available

thank you!! i did but it is not just a list. there is all the technical wording as welll...  maybe i did not do it right.

Only the child dimensions will show available to download, but the whole hierarchy will load when downloaded for the selected dimension

Did you try the grid view? This is the most basic way.

You can right-click and save this as CSV which you can then paste into Excel (using the Text to Columns function). This will give you all the (selected) details, except a hierarchical formatting, but the order is correct.

Most implementation / consulting partners have their own tools to extract / view / edit metadata in a hierarchical view format. Some individuals also created their own tools.

Keep an eye out for this on the OpenPlace, something might be released in the future.
