Journal Input Sign for Balance Acct Type

How are the Debit and Credit inputs treated when using an account set as Account Type Balance on a Journal?  Are debits positive and credits negative?

Hi, 

Based on my very simple testing, the Balance account type seems to behave in the same manor (in terms of aggregation) as the Asset account type. So if you post a debit, it increases the value in that account; post a credit it reduces the value.
