Member Dimension correction

I created a detail account dimension without creating a summary account dimension first.  When I attempt to create a summary account dimension now, I get an error message indicating the member already exists.  I tried to delete the detailed dimension and start over but there is already data saved.  How can I correct this?

Did you try:

  1. Create a new member in the summary dimension with a different name
  2. Move the base/child members in the Detail dimension under the new extended member
  3. Delete the old parent in the detail dimension and rename the new member in the summary dimension.

It only works when you are trying to move parent members from the detail dim to the summary dim, i.e. members that don't have any stored data against them.
