Application Build

We would like to combine two of our cubes into one.  Some of the UD dimensions will change in the new combined cube.  Is it best to start with a new application?  Any suggestions?

When using a Parameter to specify a member in a CubeView, how do I specify which Workspace the Parameter is in?  

My client needs me to capture foreign characters apart from regular English as part of Account Metadata. Some of their ERP(Account/Entity) data is in chinese characters and the question was will this be brought in to onestream in their local language or do they first need to translate it to english?    

Hello, Is it possible to remove user defined dimension association from cube (Application>Cubes>Cube Dimensions)? We've an unused dimension initially created but now we'd like to remove it, as all data is loaded at None member. But when we try to change that UD7 dimension setting to default (RootUD7Dim), it throws below error: "Error updating cube. Unable to modify cube 'CUBENAMEXXXX' dimensions because the cube has data."   I know that error is because we've loaded data already but just wondering if there's a way to get rid of this dimension from cube.   Thanks, Gaurav  

Hi, I have a requirement to report on transaction currency. Is there a way for me not to use any UDs to hold the transaction currency? May be  using the alternate input currency in flow? Any suggestion is appreciated . Thanks

What alterantive solution you have build for Workforce Planning. I don't want to use People Planning Market place solution. 1) Run calculations inside the cube by storing all employee information. 2) Relational Table + Cube. Can you give me a top level design where i can start with ? Thanks!

We have a cube view with Entity Hierarchy in rows displaying values in local currency at the base level and USD at parent level. columns are CY Amount, PY Amount, Variance, Variance %, Currency Change Note - Currency Change is always reflected in USD(both at base and Parent Level) Formula for currency change = (CY Avg Rate - PY Average Rate)* CY Amount (conversion to USD) Problem Statement  Currency Change is displaying correct values at the base level entity, but when rolling up its showing a 0 because the CY Amount at Parent level always shows in USD so the conversion rate by default is 1.   I am looking for a solution to have the Currency Change apply only at the base level and the parent should be a rollup of the base. see screenshot below. Looking forward to some inputs here!      

Hello ! I am trying to execute the "LogonAndReturnCookie" web api. I thought everything was configured correctly, but I get the message (401 - unauthorized) : "Error processing External Provider Sign In information. Custom Scopes from the Request do not match the ones configured." In the REST API documentation, it is written that the "custom scope" should be as followed : (OneStream web api  app custom scope : allowpostman) : [screenshot removed] How do you configure this custom scope in the app / in azure AD / in postman ?   Regards,

CubeView that was assigned to different role is still visible when the user is set to another role.Example:CubeViewProfile1 - Access Group: Role 1CubeViewGroup1.1 - Access Group: Role 1CubeViewGroup1.2 - Access Group: EveryoneCubeViewProfile2 - Access Group: Role 2CubeViewGroup2.1 - Access Group: Everyone User with Role2 is able to view CubeViewProfile1 and all of its members while user with Role1 is able to view CubeViewProfile2 under OnePlace > Cube Views.How do I hide the CubeViews in OnePlace from users who do not have the right role? Are there other configurations I need to take into consideration? 

Hello, i have a scenario with a range defined (i.e :Month 3 to Month 12) , i wanna process cube only on these months from month 3 to month 12. however when i launch the process cube through the workflow profile, it executes all the periods (even the prior ones , i.e M1 & M2) , i tried to lock through a BR these two months but it didnt work... how can i process cube only on my scenario range plz ?  thanks,

Hi everyone,  In the dashboard, I have setup my dashboard header, and linked it with the main dashboard but when I view this dashboard in different screen, the header loses it formatting. Anyone know how I can maintain the header format in different screens?

We are wanting to know how other government agencies are doing for their prior year financial statements. What is your solution on how to handle retroactive system changes within OneStream? 

We have a lot of Cube Views and most of them have multiple validations some of which are quite complex.We also want to use Confirmation Rules to check that these Cube View validations have been cleared. The prospect of duplicating the Cube View validations in Confirmation Rules is not pleasant so we are looking for alternatives. We were thinking of adding a summary validation to every Cube View in the same place and then (somehow) saving that single value to an account with a split on UD6 for the Cube View. That would mean the Confirmation Rules are very simple to write. The question is can you save a value calculated on a Cube View to the Cube? The FormsEventHandler only references data that has been input (happy to be corrected on that). Suggestions on how to do this or a completely different approach are very welcome. Thanks

Hi, We will be setting up tables using Table Data Manager to store some filtered extract of application data. My question is how can on-prem folks access these tables? We were wondering whether we should just use on-prem database and use BR to extract the data to those on-prem tables. But this means we have to rely on IT to maintain those staging tables and access.  I prefer keeping the tables in Onestream app and give access to those tables. Thank you, Mikki

Happy Feb! how do I sync Prod with DEV ? We made a lot of changes to DEV over the past 5 months - but didn't upload all of our changes.  We are thinking of exporting a complete extract of metadata, Cubeviews, dashboards, datamanagement, DataSources to xml from DEV - then delete all metadata, Cubeviews, dashboards, datamanagement, DataSources before uploading our extract to PROD?  Both servers are in different physical locations and therefore have different firewalls. Is there an article regarding life-cycle management for OneStream ?  

Hello,We need to create bulk users to perform stress test.We tried to use the suggested solution in the post Solved: Re: Issue with bulk native user creation using internal authentication. - OneStream Community (onestreamsoftware.com), by removing the line <encryptedPassword> in the XML file, in order to have the default password, without success.We would like to provide directly a different password to each user (even if he will have to change it afterwards).What are the best practices to perform it ?Thanks,Regards,Harry 

Hello All, We have a requirement to make some text display dynamically showing or not based on whether the entity member selected in a combo box is a base member or a parent. In my XFBR, I found this function that would give me this information but when I set it up, it returns me false, whereas in some cases, the entity selected had children (so is a parent). "Dim IsParent As Boolean = BRApi.Finance.Entity.HasChildren(si, EntitydimPk, SelectedEntityID, Nothing)" Could you let me know where my function's set up could be wrong or also if you would propose to use an other solution to achieve this requirement ? When OS call an authentification API, OS use the IMPLICIT parameter. This parameter is deprecated since 2 years. When are you going to update these calls with the new standards?

The default length of visible line items for comboboxes seems to be eight. Is it possible to change this to larger numbers? Often there is more space on the screen and this would help avoid unnecessary scrolling. Thanks! (example from GolfStream App)    

Hi All,I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on using slice security for specific UD3 level security vs. using a Finance Business Rule to control access to certain UD3 members.  Basically, I am looking to say if a user is in a certain security group, they should not be able to write data to certain UD3 members.  I believe it can easily be written using slice security (Cube Data Access Security) or with a conditional input FBR (if user in g.  I see an advantage to not having to update every entity with turning the Data Access Security to True and potentially adding categories vs with a BR, just writing a rule that doesn't touch metadata.  I tend to typically try to avoid 'touching' existing metadata if I don't have to especially when adding in a Planning Cube next to a pre-existing and well established Consolidation Cube.  Does anyone know if there is any real pro/con to either approach other than less updating of metadata which I mention above?  Would pe
