Workflow and Data Integration

Hello, I am new to OneStream and would like to know if it is possible to attach a file in the Certification step.  If yes, please provide me with the steps.

I have a 3 step Data Integration process which I need to automate,1. Extract OS data and push it to DB tables - DM Sequence2. Execute list of DB Stored Procedures3. Import data from DB to OS - DM SequenceI started with an Extender BR calling them using BRAPI.Utilities, but the execution of Stored Procedures itself will take 6-8 hours and the DM Sequence time out before even SP completes.Appreciate suggestions to automate this process. 

Hi, Did anyone have any situation when they deleted a DM Job by accident? How can you retrieve that? There's no Orphaned area for DM jobs for us, unfortunately. I can't find any back up for it. Would save us a lot of time if we avoid rebuilding it. Thanks in advance. Regards, Irina

Recently I heard in these forums that FDX methods (like FdxExecuteCubeView) should be used from a BR whenever the performance of the data is critical. Can someone help me understand why they are faster? We've already built quite a lot of client-integration software using cubeviews.  The cubeviews are being executed via the REST api.  We are retrieving data with "api/DataProvider/GetAdoDataSetForCubeViewCommand". Now that I have discovered the "FDX" methods, it puts me in the troublesome position.  I realize that a ton of our integration software should probably be re-written to use those FDX methods.  The re-write may take some time.  Why won't onestream just extend the "normal" cubeview interface of the REST api, and add an option to run it in FDX mode?  That would be similar to the "turbo" buttons they used to put on a the tower of a PC to make it run faster (for those users who had a preference between a fast computer and a slow one.) I want to execute a list of DB Stored procedures after executing a DM step in OS. Is it possible to call a DB Stored Procedure from OS?After the Stored Procedures are run, I want to execute a list of DM Jobs for data imports to cube.Appreciate any pointers how I can implement this.  

We are currently on version 6.6. First time poster here!  I created a data source called Vista that has 4 different entities using it.  Each of those 4 entities has their own Workflow Profile and each entity is “assigned” to their respective Workflow Profile.   In the Data Source, how do I address this in the Entity field?  Is there a formula I can use to pull the Entity name from the Workflow Profile that is selected by the user?  So if the user is importing the “Chicago” entity (which is assigned to the “Chicago” Workflow Profile), can the Data Source somehow read that?

Hi All,Setting up the context for the question:I am trying to load the data via 3 different import channels (chan1, chan2, chan3) in a same WF.2 of the import channels (chan2, chan3) are for the sales data load and 1 (chan1) is used to load the historical data for those entities in the similar data unit.  Basically, data from chan1 has data units that is shared between chan2 and chan3. I enabled the overlapped sibling settings to merge the data from (chan1 and chan2) and also for (chan1 and chan3).  The issue I am facing is as soon I load chan1 after loading chan2 & 3, the import channel status for 2 and 3 goes to LOAD CUBE from PROCESS CUBE. If I reprocess the chan2, the status for both chan1 and chan3 gets changes to LOAD CUBE despite of the fact that chan2 and chan 3 have different data units (Both of these channels are hitting different sets of accounts)?Has anyone faced this issue in the application? If yes, please guide me to freeze the status of

We have users that frequently desire to mass updates to their transformation tables.  We use the TRX download/upload process to export current mappings and upload changes.  This works great except the TRX buttons are only available to administrators.  I believe that these should be available to admins along with anyone within the assigned maintenance group.  Is there a way to provision this? 

Hi OS experts,  I want to exclude a base entity - as it must not be affected by the derivative - from its parent for the purpose of this derivative. All entity under a specific parent (ie TDM)  must be part of the derivative expression but excluding one base entity. Anyone knows how I can achieve this? This is my derivative expression ->

Hi all, what do you usually suggest to clients as last step of a budget/forecasting cycle, to Close the workflow hierarchy or to Lock its workflows? I am just checking if there is any disadvantage by using one against the other. Also, is there a way of automating the closing/locking so that it is trigger on a certain date? I was thinking I can may create a rule encapsulated in a data management job and schedule that, but is there an easier way? Thank you

Workflow, journals Hi all, So our client wants the end users to be able to create journals but not post them. Group finance team will review and approve and post all the journals created. I think the security bit can be done using the workflow profile settings. The question is: Is there a way for the group finance users to see all the journals created by end users and go through them instead of navigating to every workflow to approve the journals. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

Hi,We are facing one issue where if we pass periodic entry then the next month it is automatically passing a negative amount of the same value but I need it to be zero only.Example-March =10000 (loaded at view periodic)April= -10000 (should be 0)Can anyone help me how to resolve this?

Dear community,  We build an Excel import template (XFDRange) for our client's planning process.  We understand it is possible to load Text Value into Stage; however, we need to retrieve the comments in a cube view for an overview, so the comments need to be stored in the cube. Currently, we set two different columns for the View dimension, one for Periodic view to import the data and the other for Annotation to import text.    We saw there were some similar questions raised in the community, but solutions are not applicable to our case.  Hoping to get some more suggestions regarding this!   Thank you in advance!

Hello All, We had to make changes to our 2022 (Prior period) data as we identified some issues with it. We cleared the data and tried reloading a bulk file with Full year 2022 data (Split Quarterly). Previously, We used to batch import data in one period (E.g. March), all the other quarter end months would automatically get a green tick and show data for that period in staging table.This time when we loaded numbers to March (data included periods M3,M6,M9,M12 for 2022), we can only see the data in March (M3), we are not able to see data in other periods. Please find the below snap for  reference.   Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,I have an Excel template file to import via the stage. This Excel is using a matrix-style for the values (time in columns) and also one column with a text commentary.As I have to change the view to “Annotation” in order to import a text value, I was thinking about duplicating the rows by a derivative rule and change the view in that rule. The outcome shows the duplicated rows, but these are missing the text value. So this approch is not working.I also tried to duplicate one time column and use a parser rule to change the view. Doing so, I would need to identify, which time period I am in during pasing, as otherwise all rows are changed.Any ideas about that?Regards,Tobias

Stack Trace: at OneStream.Shared.Engine.XFTelemetryHelper.GetTaskActivityArgsInfo(SessionInfo si, TaskActivityArgs taskActivityArgs) in C:\agent\_work\411\s\Source\Shared\Engine\SharedEngineBase\UserActivity\XFTelemetryHelper.cs:line 55 The strange thing is that the data load is always successful...
