Is there an interface from Dynamics 365 into OneStream? I have seen some comments mention direct connection with D365 using oData API. We have several business units across the world that will need to push month end data from D365. Is there a way they can just push the data from their end or would it have to come from OneStream to get the data?
Hi All, I am trying to extract the annotations uploaded by our entities by creating a cubeview. I entered all relevant POV information in the cubeview, however, no annotations show. Does any of you have experience with extracting annotations via a cube view?
I’m exploring ways to configure OneStream to send automated email notifications when a workflow status changes.Specifically, the requirement is something like:When a workflow transitions from Not Started --> In Progress, orFrom In Progress --> Completed (or similar workflow status changes),the system should automatically send an email notification to a defined user or user group to inform them of the status change. If anyone has implemented something similar or can point me to the right framework (or limitations) around workflow-driven notifications, I’d really appreciate any guidance or examples. Thanks in advance!
Hi Team, In Manage Workflow initially i have faced an issue, we thought Workflow channel name "Whatif_R&O_Adj" contains special character &. is this really because of '&' symbol. or is there any other issue. Could you please advise on this. and after clicking on the 'ok'. it is not showing unlock and Unlock Descendent options. Please help to resolve the issue. Below are my workflow settings. Thank you, Shiva Prasad.
For the first Import of a Workflow Profile, data in certain months in a "Matrix flat file" failed to be loaded into a Data Cube. For the second+ Import of that Workflow Profile, data in those months in that "Matrix flat file" could be loaded into a Data Cube.- In summary, data in certain months in a "Matrix flat file" must be Imported > 1 time of a Workflow Profile to be loaded into a Data Cube. Please share the root causes for v9.2. Thank you, SMEs. For the first Import Workflow, M2 data in certain intersections failed to be loaded into a Data Cube. For the second+ Import Workflow, M2 data in those intersections could be loaded into a Data Cube.
Hello Everyone,I’m encountering an issue in OneStream when trying to post a journal via central workflow to an entity whose workflow is locked.Normally, central journal input steps are designed to allow journal postings even when the entity’s workflow is locked. In my case, I have configured a central journal input step within the workflow profile of the entity, so I would expect journal entries to still be accepted despite the lock. However, when attempting to post the journal, I receive an error indicating that the entity is locked.Has anyone experienced a similar issue where central journal input steps do not bypass the workflow lock as expected? Are there specific configuration points or workflow setup details that could explain this behavior?
Hello, What is the best way to send data from OneStream to Snowflake using an existing SIC ODBC connection? Currently I am using SIC ODBC connection to query data from Snowflake and now I would like to send data back to Snowflake.
I’m starting an Account Reconciliations implementation and the current process loads Actuals for all entities through a central import. They do have individual workflows for each entity where security is assigned at that level and used for planning and reporting. For RCM they want to look at their recs at that level too (WF entity) but data is not flowing through. Did the discovery both at the Central and individual levels and only the Central inventory is being populated. I guess it’s because data is not being loaded to stage into those WFs. Is there a way to work around this or will data need to be loaded at the entity level for it to work?
Hi everyone, I am building a query using the vStageSourceAndTargetDataWithAttributes view and I want to ensure I am retrieving the latest figures for a specific Entity and Time period. I have a few questions regarding the best way to filter this: Filtering by Wfk: I know that hardcoding a GUID for the Wfk (Workflow Key) is risky because it can change between environments or if a profile is reset. What is the recommended way to dynamically filter for a specific Workflow Profile? Should I be joining on the WorkflowProfileHierarchy table/view to filter by ProfileName? Latest Figures: If multiple imports have occurred, does filtering by a specific Wfk automatically ensure I am seeing the "latest" iteration of the data, or is there a better field to use for partitioning/ranking the results? Any code snippets or best practices for making these stage queries robust would be highly appreciated.

Has anyone imported CAMT.053 files from their bank into OneStream? We are embarking on an Account Reconciliation project and trying to accommodate our international sites. We've been told this is tricky and to stick with the BAI format, but that will be problematic as we integrate more global entities.
Hello,I have a SWIFT Bank file from a client based in Europe that I need to import. I thought this would be similar to a BAI file and could use the OS BAI Parser solution to grab the necessary information, but the format isn't as similar as I thought. Is there any other tool for parsing out a SWIFT file or will this require some custom logic?
Hi Community :)We are currently in development with regard to loading sub-ledger data into OneStream, but the balance specifications are so granular that we currently have them split into about 10 distinct loads. Because of this setup, our end users are being forced to manually click "Load and Transform" 10+ times to get a complete sub-ledger balance loaded for the period. Obviously, this is tedious, creates a poor user experience, and introduces a lot of room for human error. We want to streamline this. What is best practice to do this?
Hi Team, I’m looking for guidance on the best approach to clear data in OneStream. My requirement is twofold: Clear all data from the Stage areaFor a selected set of entities, clear both Stage and Cube data I’m particularly interested in understanding the most efficient and recommended way to handle this, while ensuring data integrity and minimizing any unintended impact. Specifically, I would appreciate insights on: Recommended methods to clear Stage data globally (e.g., via Data Management steps, Business Rules, or utilities)The best approach to selectively clear Cube data for specific entitiesAny considerations around workflow locks, data unit locking, or audit/history implicationsPerformance best practices and recommended sequence of operations If anyone has implemented a similar requirement, I’d love to hear your approach or any lessons learned. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi everyone, I need to set up a few transformations to normalize a delimited file that will be uploaded by the users, before feeding it to the datasource.I previously worked with FTP folders, and used a Connector BR to retrieve data and normalize it before the datasource step.I have never worked with delimited files loaded directly by clicking Import. It's not clear to me if I can still use a connector BR or if I need to use something else (a Parser BR?).Can anyone help me understand what is the best practice in this case?Thank you for the support!
Hi All,I'm trying to set up some Excel templates for the uploading Budget and Forecast data. I'm pretty happy with the Excel Template side, with the named range (XFD), and specific header formats, etc. However, I'm a bit lost on the Data Source set up, I get that you have to Allow Dynamic Excel Loads set to True, but what about the rest of the set up? Do I choose Delimited or Fixed file? It feels like this Data Source section is really for flat files, as it always wants to know the column number.I've tried importing the Excel into the Data Source in the same way I would for a csv file, but it just shows up as xml gibberish in the top box. It definitely feels like I'm missing something.
Hello everyone, We have several companies that have been sold or dissolved. To simplify users’ work, we would like to stop displaying workflows for these entities for periods when they no longer exist within our group. I’m not sure if this is the recommended approach, so please feel free to share your best practices with me. For my part, I have several ideas: Revoke access to the workflowProfile of the relevant entities via the access permissions of the users responsible for importing the data. Use a Business Rule to retrieve the name of the entity linked to the user’s workflow and, using its Entity ID, retrieve the date the company left the group, which is stored in Text6. This way, I could either display no periods (meaning there would be no workflow), display all 12 periods, or display only the X months of the year the user was in the group. I can retrieve the ID of the entity assigned to the workflow, but I can’t retrieve the data in Text6. I get the error “Object reference not
Hello,I have Product and Customer allocations that I would like to be ran on the process step of the Workflow. The weird challenge that I am running into is that when I run each step of the sequence on its own, the allocations are executing as expected. When I run all of the allocations with one sequence/in the Workflow, my allocations are producing errant results. (E.g. my allocated-in amount in is only a small fraction of my allocated-out amount.)Is there a property I am missing on a sequence or workflow that may cause problems if not handled appropriately? I am calling the sequence with a No Calculate in the WF, which executes a handful of Finance BR Calcs.
Hi,I have 12 separate schedule tasks that is set to run monthly on calendar days 1-15. It runs every 2 hours starting from 12AM. (Next is 2AM, 4AM, and so on)I am encountering inconsistent issues with 6PM and 12AM where it does not kick off at all on random days. I've checked the configurations and can confirm it is set up right. Any idea what's causing the inconsistent failure to run? I'm in central time if that helps.
Please share your practical advice to help us meet the new Integration requirements.- I couldn't find a OneStream KB/post nor a good result from free Gemini.- We're using SAAS on v9.0 to move to v10 upon its upcoming release.Thank you folks for sharing your expertise.
There was no Jan close, so we want to divide Feb actuals by 2 to get a Jan actuals load. The loads are SQL from HFM and Database Whse, so it isn't done with a flat file csv. When I looked at the Feb Import that are 1214 lines. How can we take that Feb import, divide by 2, and import in Jan Actuals? First thought was to create a QuickView then upload back into OneStream. Also looked at a copy Business Rule but calculations are needed for the data. Any ideas/thoughts?
Hello OneStream Community, I am running into an issue with the ability to complete a workflow with a dashboard button as a test security user. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a consolidation status dashboard, which is attached to the top-most workflow node for a given month. My issue is as a test end-user I keep receiving the following error message when attempting to complete the Workspace chevron and move on to the certify step of the workflow. The security settings for the workflow are very simple, so it's not clear what could be the issue here.Is there another way I could get around this?
Hi,I can’t get my data import to work with vertical extensibility, and I’d like to understand how this situation is supposed to be handled. In short, the import validation fails on accounts that are extended for an entity. The entity belongs to a cube that is vertically extended from the primary workflow cube. Detailed situationI have extended dimensions and two cubes that use those dimensions.CubeParent contains a parent entity with dimensions applied. The parent entity resides in the parent entity dimension.CubeChild has dimensions that are extended from the parent’s dimensions. The child entity resides in the child entity dimension. As a result, each cube has its own unique entity dimension containing its respective entity.Additional configuration details:CubeChild has Is Top Level Cube For Workflow set to False.CubeParent is the top-level cube and has the Workflow Profile created from it.The child entity has been added as a child of the parent entity in the parent’s entity dimen
We are looking for a load into a financial cube. Mappings are already done in the source system. Is there a way to load records that pass the validation and write the other records to an error protocol. The idea would be that not the whole load is rejected but only records that contain errors, those being written to an error protocol. Many thanks for your support
