Hello,I have a button which is fed from a List Box seen belowUpon clicking this button, I would like Users to navigate to another Dashboard where the label component and cube view open with this button selection. Are supplied parameters the way to accomplish this? If so, what are the correct configurations to achieve this. Thanks for your help!
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!I’m having an issue with an Excel extraction of my data rows through drilldown. I have a French profile and my Excel is set to French, so when I have separators with spaces, it extracts the amounts in a strange format.Have you encountered this problem before?Thank you very much!
Hi, After we recently upgraded to V8.5 , it seems the slice security has stopped working. Can anyone suggest what would have gone wrong? Cube Data Access Security for Entity is True The parameters are set as User is in group and Data cell in the Filter -> Apply access and stop (Read Only) User is in group and Data cell is not in the Filter -> Apply access and continue (No access) User is NOT in group and Data cell is not in the Filter -> Apply access and continue (No access) In the Account filter , am passing 1 account say Sales but when am checking the access , user is able to access all the accounts. There is no other security available in this particular base cube other than this
Hi everyone, I’m interested in learning how other organizations are leveraging OneStream to track inflation and other account-related metrics. Currently, our approach involves using the Account dimension to explicitly separate inflation impacts for specific expense categories. For example: FOOD_BEV – Food & Beverage Expense INFL_FOOD_BEV – Inflation related to Food & Beverage Expense These inflation rates are externally calculated and loaded via XFD uploads. To support different reporting views, we load the data into three separate accounts: _PER – Monthly _QTR – Quarterly _ANN – Annual We also use a view dynamic account without a suffix, which adjusts based on the selected view. Exploring Alternative Approaches I’m considering whether using a User Defined (UD) dimension might offer more flexibility. For instance: Keep the account as FOOD_BEV Use the UD to switch between metrics like: "Dollars" (actuals/estimate) "Inflation" (loaded via XFD) "Per Guest" (dynamically calcu
Hi Team, Based on Business requirement we have created Stored Calc for Account(A#KPI_GSS_OP_IN_AFT_TAX_ROIC_WIP). But while running the Force Consolidation Step at Parent entity level getting the below error. and consolidation working fine at entity base level and data is sending from source to Destination. Can you please help us on the below issue.
Hello, We want to review both our Management and Stat reporting on a monthly basis. The 2 approaches we are considering using are: employ an Audit / Nature UD to build the separate views by adjustments layered over the local GAAP import. or use a separate Scenario for each view with the Local GAAP data being fed into each scenario. One of the main differences between the two views would be pre-acquisition TBs for newly acquired companies being included in the management view for comparative purposes. Would be Interested to hear anyone's feedback or suggestions - thanks!
We're trying to reduce the size of a large table in OS (about 650GB). Our initial idea was to copy the rows to a new table and then rename it, but the insert process takes too long due to the size and ends up timing out. Deleting records from the table itself seems risky and take's similar duration. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Would appreciate any tips or suggestions for a faster and more efficient approach. Thank you!
Hello OneStream Community, For our upcoming budget cycle, we want to create an inputsheet where the Time dimension is displayed in columns, with each month (January through December) as a separate column. Our current data sources are configured with the time dimension in rows, and I'm struggling to set up the data source to handle a matrix layout. I've tried using data transformations and source dimensions, but I haven't been able to make it work. Has anyone dealt with a similar scenario and can provide a clear method for configuring the data source and mappings correctly? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Jasper
My colleagues in OneStream, have you seen this error before? Since this is the first time I’ve come across it in a standard load scenario with everything else validating, I thought I’d share here to compare notes. Any insights on what could be “behind” this error in practice would be really helpful for building a knowledge base around less common OneStream load errors. While running a data load in OneStream, I encountered an "Invalid Cube Name" error. What made this surprising is that all the usual suspects checked out fine:Workflow setup was validated.Data sources were reviewed.Transformation rules were checked.Rules on members who call cubes were also confirmed.Cube mappings looked correct.Despite all of these checks, the error still occurred. This message is unusual because it doesn’t typically appear if the metadata, cube structure, or mappings are aligned. In most cases, it points to something deeper in how OneStream is resolving the cube context for the workflow profile or the enti
Hello Team,I am unable to open the OneStream application and getting "Application cannot be started" error after downloads.Expecting solution as soon as possible.Thank you.Regards, Praveen
Is it possible to do a live character count using a text box and label component inside of a business rule that counts characters as they are being typed into a text box component that is used in a dashboard? The contents of this text are written to a relational table but as for the character count, I want to do that live BEFORE I write the contents to a relational table. This is on an 8.4 application.
Hi Team, I am trying to build a Stored calc. My account type is "Revenue" & Formula type is "Formula Pass 11". Here, if i give full combination (All Dimensions) data is sending from Source to designation. and one more thing if i give any variables Data is not sending from source to Destination. can you please help us how to make the calc as dynamic since i am giving all combinations.
Hi there,We've developed rules that works properly in actuals with monthly frequency. Is there a way to use the same rules in other frequencies? I tried to link them to a budget scenario with yearly tracking frequency (Scenario property), but they are applied at the end of the year (for instance 2022) instead of each month. This behavior is kept even after changing to Monthly frequency, or "Member Filter" using "T#|WFYear|.Base". Is there a filter on the time from the WF itself?Ideally, we'd like to keep the actuals conf rules as they are.Thank you for the help.Regards
Hey Team, I’ve observed that users are currently able to load data via Excel/Spreadsheet tools (Quick View / XFset) beyond the defined Workflow Time Period range for any scenario. This behavior persists even after setting the following Application General Properties to False: Allow Loads Before Workflow View Year Allow Loads After Workflow View Year Despite these settings, the restriction does not seem to be enforced, and users can still submit data outside the intended time range. Could you please advise if there are additional configurations or security settings required to fully restrict data loads outside the Workflow Time Period—especially when using Excel-based tools? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated. Best regards,Yogesh Kumar Goyal
Hi team,I'm trying to export data using a Data Management step with view filters. When I specify the view as V#Periodic,V#YTD, only V#Periodic data records is being extracted. If I reverse the order to V#YTD,V#Periodic, then only V#YTD data records get extracted.Has anyone faced this issue or knows how to correctly extract data with View dimension filters? Thanks in advance! 🙂
Hi. I have a lot of changes to consolidation percentages (example : the consolidation % changed in 2024M9 to 60%) to various entities with a time stamp (i.e. history already has default was 100%, then 2023M1 it changed to 80%). However, I cannot just slot the changes into an xml file and load it otherwise it will wipe out the history of the consolidation percentages for those entities and the only info remaining will be the latest change loaded (2024M9 at 60%). Is there a better way to do it than to extract all the ownership information and manually add a new line per entity in the xml extract.
We have some group of base customers under different parents with text property, and we are planning to block input to those customers in all the input forms if we use dimension property Allow input 'false' then it will block input but after that update during close FPA team should do adjustments for those Customers. Can we do it with irrespective of that dimension property false update. Is there any option that without updating input forms (CUBE VIEWS) with customer (UD2) parameter or with the help of business rule can we override that dimension property Allow input 'True' by running DM Step for certain customers when we give them in DM JOB and revert again to false after inputs through DM step. Please suggest your solutions.
We are designing a planning solution where overlays will be used across accounts with very different levels of dimensionality. For example:Some accounts have minimal dimensionality (straightforward base members for input).Others require navigating through multiple UDs before reaching the base intersection.Ideally, I’d like users to be able to choose their drill-down path until they reach the correct base intersection for data entry.Has anyone implemented a design pattern or approach that balances these differences effectively?
If I have a dashboard made up of several Embedded dashboards, all of which need to have access to a Supplied Parameter,do I need to include it as a component of the top dashboard only OR,do I have to include it for all embedded dashboards (that require the related parameter) also?Steve
Hi all,is there some documentation about BIViever's Calculated Fields ? I cannot find info/examples about:aggrfilterjoinRuleI need to compare values against the value of a specific row, but I'm not able to find a solution.Do someone faced the same challenge ? I am working on in OneStream V9. I have a workspace cube view with a combo-box cell type. The cube view works fine in the application, but when I open the same cube view using the Excel add-in the combo-box drop down is not active. Any ideas on what I should check? Thanks.
Hello, It looks like the data management step service in assemblies is currently not documented in the online Help. Does anyone have experience, snippets to share in order to leverage this service? How is it triggered? What can we do with it ? Regards,
In the metadata XML file, if there are multiple values by scenario type, it splits into two rows and there is no easy way to generate two rows from the XF Dimension template. Is there any way to update member properties varying by scenario type via the upload template? I have to manually update, copy, and paste hundreds of times in order to have that property updated for the accounts.Using the standard metadata builder template, the other properties are getting overridden.
Hi all,Does anyone know the physical storage location for journal attachments in OneStream? I found a table (table name: Attachements) with file names and related text but couldn’t locate the actual folder or path where I can extract it using a BR.Thanks in advance!
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to write member formula (not dynamic calc), below is the syntax Dim Var1 as Decimal = Math.Round(api.Data.GetDataCell("A#630000").CellAmount, 2) api.Data.Calculate("A#520000 = A#430000 "*" & Var1 & "). after that getting error "Double is not valid, input string was incorrect format".
