Workflow and Data Integration

Dear community, We are now helping a client to set up a data management sequence to copy six months (T#YearM1-M6) of Actual data to Forecast. And user can start entering figures for Forecast M7-12.In Actual, data is loaded in YTD.The copy data step works, and we can see the correct consolidated data until M6.While in M7, we see data that should not be the case. When we checked the data on all the Base level entities, it showed derived data. All the other dimensions are also at the base level. And the view is Periodic.However, when we look at the Parent level entity, all the other dimensions remain on the base level and view in Periodic. The cell status shows it is "Real Data."  Below is the setting for the Forecast scenario. Can someone provide an explanation for such behavior in OneStream?Please note that we did not consolidate M7 after the data copy, and the Forecast scenario had no data.  Any suggestion is much appreciated!Thanks in advance! &

How are you managing prepaid expenses and amortizations in OneStream (OS)?  Prior to OS, we were using Blackline, this tool had prepaid amortization templates that let us easily establish a monthly schedule of expenses. It contained an auto roll-forward schedule, and the system automatically amortizes over future periods.  This same feature doesn't exist in OS, and I'd love to hear how your company is processing these transactions.  Thank you!

TeamWhile importing data from local drive to Onestream through Import step (Load and Transform), i get an error "Global scenario member is not initialized". Can you please help:-1. Why do i need to select the data source manually everytime from local file even after uploading the file in Data Source2. We have subledger system change that I created new workflow substeps for, and I wanted to leave the old workflow substep out there for viewing historical loads, but not have someone have to deal with it every month from a workflow completion standpoint going forward.  If I inactivate the step, it completely goes away in all years.  What is a best practice for making a substep inactive, but keep it visible for history?

Hello,I have a consolidated /parent workflow where we make top-sided entries via forms and journals on rare occasion. When I book an entry through a form it causes a variance on my OOB report, I assume in the children workflows because the entries are one sided (hitting different entities in different workflows). These two lines in the form net to zero, but how can I get my OOB check to ignore or recognize this is an "unbalanced" entry from a workflow perspective?

Hi, we are using a Central Load workflow to load trial balances for ~1,500 entities(set up as unrelated entities).  There are then approx 50 "Central Import" workflows where Entities are assigned and specific work is performed.  The central load file pulls all entities and will be loaded at least daily.  There are going to be cases when one workflow is certified and another still needs to be reloaded.  The import, however, fails in order to avoid loading data to a certified Entity.  Looking for any help on settings or BR to bypass already certified entities. Thanks

SOURCE: ONESTREAM CHAMPIONS Hi - I am trying to create a journal entry summary report, and am able to get most of my data from the application tables, however the created by, submitted by, etc user data are all just the unique identifiers, and not actual user names. Currently I only know of user names being kept in the Framework database location, in the SecUser table (or similar ones). Is there specific syntax I can use that will allow me to read from that database location (Framework) while running an SQL query capturing the rest of my data in the application database location through a dashboard data adapter? Or does this need to be done using a business rule to combine two tables? Thanks.

Hi all, I created a workflow Import profile with the Workspace/Import/Validate/Load steps. Inside the Workspace step, I added a Dashboard that has a button, which, in turn, has an Extensible BR that executes the following:Downloads a file from an external source and leaves it in the file ShareAfter that, this file is imported with the Import step through a Dashboard Extender BR called from the same Extensible Rule, which Imports, Validates and Loads the same workflow profile.I would like to see the Taskbar progress and also to automatically refresh the workflow profile status:If the button launches the Extensible Rule, I see the Taskbar progress but the workflow status is not automatically refreshed.If the button launches the Dashboard Extender BR, the workflow is automatically refreshed but the Taskbar progress is not shown.Could we have both functionality? Have you seen it before? If yes, could anyone send me an example of the code us

Hi,We are seeing the below issue on data load process.we always see the last file uploaded, it seems if you upload another before one is deleted.If you upload another file you will see only that one and not the rest of the files.We want to see the all upload files .Please suggest.Regards,Rk

Hello, we are 'suddenly' seeing an increase in the time for a matrix data source import to complete the validate intersections step.  It has gone from 5 minutes to over 2.5 hours to complete one step during the import step of the workflow.  The subsequent cube load takes another 2+ hours of time once the validation step completes (for a total execution time now over 5 hours).We have backed out all changes since the previous execution that completed in 5 minutes with no change to the time.  We currently are not suppressing zeros on the data source, however even with that enabled in our QA instance, the time to complete the validate intersections step is still much longer than 5 minutes (40+ minutes).Any suggestions on what else we can check?  We are currently on platform version 7.0.1. 

Hey everyone -  How do I clear data from these workflow manual imports automatically?Right now, I've been going through each month one by one. Wondering if there is a BR that can run them all together and clear up data from those specific imports and time dimension. Here are the steps I want to follow: Navigate to import that needs to be cleared > Clear > Re-Transform > Validate > Load Cube    

I would like to know from fellow OneStreamers how you’ve done your monthly and quartely forecasting process. I’m not necessarily looking for a solution. Just ideas on how this can be done.i need to seed the forecast from actual and budget and then be able to visualize them through the workflow and be able to adjust budget data through load of file. how can i link the BR of copy with the workflow and to adjust the data , is it possible to override the data copied by loading a file ? i thought about adding a workspace for the BR of copy than import on the workflow name but i am wondering if there is better solution (best practice) for the forecast process.

Is it possible to use MTD & YTD in View filter for a Data Management job.It does not work if I use -  V#MTD, Y#YTD, but this format seems to work for other filters like for time if I sue T#2021,T#2022 there are no issues. But only for View filter using multiple filter seems not to work.Do anyone know of any workaround to resolve this?  thanks Kumar

Hi all,I have a 'working' DrillBack script which connects happily to my SAP ByDesign system. However, I want to extend it's flexibility and get it to DrillBack to the active WF year and period which is not necessarily the current WF. I would like ask about culture settings and how it influence casting from text value to decimal number. We have an automated import from external system using delimited files and pre-stage table in application database. From the file the data is loaded as a string and from the string it is translated to the decimal value in connector. Hello! How do you manage recurring journal entries? We go through a manual process where we pull the JE data out of OS, manipulate the information into a text file and load the text file to create whatever JEs are needed the next period but it's not an easy or straightforward process.
