Hi, Is there a way to check status of all load overlapped siblings enabled WFs? The issue is that we have bunch of overlapped data WFs (even after L3 data unit) and people are stepping on each other, doubling the amounts every time someone loads their WF while other WF data load is in progress. Wanted to try event handler and message showing load is in progress. Any other ideas to avoid this are also appreciated. Thank you, Mikki
Hello everyone,We recently made the jump from version 7 to 9, and a rule that was previously working is now throwing an error. We are trying to use the BRApi.Utilities.SendMail functionality after a certification is done through the DataQualityEventHandler, but OS is giving us the following message when executing the certificationThe specified string is not in the form required for an e-mail address. We verified the toEmailAddresses parameter is a List(Of String) with a single item in the format "user@mail.com". What can be causing this issue?
Hi, I have been playing around with TransformationEventHandler and one of the things I am trying to do is throw an error when an user tries to clear imported/stage data. I think I got the code but I only want it to run on specific WF. I tried to use below but for some reason not able to retrieve the WF profile name. Any idea why? Case Is = BREventOperationType.Transformation.ParseAndTrans.StartClearData Dim ScenarioName As String = BRApi.Finance.Members.GetMember(si, dimType.Scenario.Id, si.WorkflowClusterPk.ScenarioKey).Name If ScenarioName = "Forecast" Then Dim objTransformer As Transformer = DirectCast(args.Inputs(0), Transformer) If objTransformer.WorkflowProfile.Name.XFEqualsIgnoreCase("AAAAA.BBBBB") Then Throw New XFException(si, Nothing, Nothing, "Data cannot be deleted.....") End If End If
Hello, we recently upgraded to v9 and noticed that we can no longer clear WF imported cube data using the "Clear" option through the workflow import (snip below). Prior to the upgrade, we could clear the stage data, then run import/validate/load to clear the data that was imported to the cube. Now, this option only clears the data from stage and in order to clear the data loaded to the cube, we have to use a data management step. In our case, this is now difficult because the data loaded may be specific to workflow channels and also use multiple dimension criteria and not just Entity (used by DM step). Is anyone else having this issue? Are there any other methods to removing the imported data via csv file from the cube other than a DM step? If we try to run the old process in v9. Clear, then Retransform, Load to clear cube data. This error appears.
Trying to create simple rule based on value greater than or less than zero, however only my Negative rule successful. A#[ACC1]=ACC1_POS | Create If > x | Final and A#[ACC1]=ACC1_NEG | Create If < x | Final On the above stated expression type, I first tried to specify the Math Value only as 0, however nothing happened. Only when I changed it to 0.01, did the logic start to work. Now, if the source value is a negative, the second derivative rule works (returning ACC1_NEG), but if I put through a positive source value, it does not create ACC1_POS a bit stumped on this one now. Any suggestions someone can perhaps suggest? cheers, Jacques
Alo I’m trying to create a Source Derivative Rule that takes each inbound Stage row and produces **two** output rows. The first row should remain completely unchanged. The second row should be an exact duplicate of the first, except the **FERC** field must be replaced with the value from **A8**. I’ve confirmed that Rule Expressions cannot duplicate rows, and the `Transformer` object in Source Derivative Rules does not expose methods like `GetInputRow` or `GetSourceRecord`. I’m looking for the correct, supported API pattern for duplicating a Stage row inside a Source Derivative Rule, or confirmation that this must be done in a different rule type (e.g., Target Derivative Rule). Any examples would be greatly appreciated
Hello Experts, Here's the scenario: We have a flat file coming from the client's source with multiple source columns. We need "Region", "Cost Center", and "Business Unit" in this case from the file to build the solution. We have developed an unique UD2 dimension in the app which will act as a target dimension for these 3 source columns(Region, CC, & BU).Creating a one to one mapping for all the possible combinations for (Region, CC, & BU) would be tedious.Currently, we are thinking of writing a Complex Expression in the UD2(target) transformational rule, that would first lookup the parent values of all the base members from the 3 columns combination and return the respective value of it's target. Something like the below snippet. Any sample code or alternative solution would be really helpful. Thanks!Dim U1 As String = args.GetTarget("U1#") Dim U3 As String = args.GetTarget("U3#") Dim U4 As String = args.GetTarget("U4#") Dim objDimPk As DimPk = BRApi.Fi
HiIs it correct for OneStream to include “No Data” rows in the IC Matching Summary? The matching tolerance is set to 1000 and “Suppress Matches” is not selected (since matches need to be displayed). These accounts previously contained data but were cleared out.
I need some assistance. The following error is displayed during the Load and Transform WF step (v9.0.1.17608): The use of "?" and "*" is discussed in the Design and Reference guide as per below:Requirement: There is an entity with 5 characters with suffix _ICI30 that needs to map to C4500 if the IC has 5 characters, and another with 9 characters with suffix _ICI30 that needs to map to C3000 if the IC has 5 characters. How do I define the rule expression if E#[?????_ICI30]:I#[?????] and E#[?????????_ICI30]:I#[?????] are incorrect?
Hi Everyone, Need your support I am currently preparing a dashboard to manage user security details in OneStream. As part of this, I need to retrieve and modify Workflow Profile access groups. Specifically, I want to get the Access Group names corresponding to each Workflow Profile (e.g., for Workflow Profile US, the View group is US_View and the Modify group is US_MOD) based on scenario type. Currently, I am able to retrieve the AccessGroupID, but I am unable to get the group names. Could you please provide guidance or confirm the table/approach I should use to map Workflow Profiles to their Access Group names? Your assistance will help in correctly setting up the dashboard and managing user security efficiently. Data Adapter to pick group Data adapter to pick Workflowprofile and assigned entities. Thank you in advance for your support.
In v9 we are misssing Ic matching accounts where as i can them in 7.3 is it know issue in v9?Intercompany matching settings has been enabled and parameters are set.
I have used SaveCustomDataTable in OS v9.01 where you need to clear the data before loading the table and it works fine.Recently i was building similar logic in OS v8.2 and noticed that it was truncating my table , is this expected or is there something i am missingit is the standard call:BRApi.Database.SaveCustomDataTable(si, "Application",Table,dt,True)
Hi All,I am writing an Connector BR to connect to a system via their API. I first build the rule as a Extender rule so that I can test the logic. So far it works great. It uses Asynchronous processing on all of the web calls. When I try to move that code into a Connector BR, I am having an issue on the GetFieldList part of it. When I try to use it in a data source, I get the following error:Unable to cast object of type 'System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.Object]' to type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.String]'.I am guessing this is because the Main module in the BR is public async Task<obect> Main so whatever is returned is going to be a Task<object>.Has anyone done Asynchronous processing in the connector rule and had the GetFieldList part working. My only thought to get around this is the write the data to a table/file with the Extender BR then the Connector reads that. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
HiI'm look for a solution to perform time dependent mappings. For example: SourceTargetPrior to Dec 25xyDec 25 onwardsxzHas anyone come across the need for the before? And if so, what solution did you implement for this? Did you notice any issues with performance etc? Thanks,Mark
When trying to connect to SAP from SIC, we are getting a tcp restart error
We have a recurring requirement to share the transformation rules/logic on a regular basis with downstream teams or auditors. Currently, this is being done manually, which is time-consuming. Is there a way to automate the extraction/export of transformation rules? Some options I’m thinking of: - Can this be done via Business Rules (BR) / Decision Model (DM) modules? - Is it possible to extract or view all applied transformation rules directly through Cube Views? - Has anyone built an automated solution (e.g., a dashboard, cube view, report, or extender rule) to export/list all transformation rules in a readable format? Would really appreciate your thoughts or examples if you’ve implemented something similar. Thanks!
Hello, I recently recovered a scenario from a restored application copy from a point in time. I now would like to extract that scenario from the application copy and put that in our working application. Does anyone have any idea on how this would be done? Thank you, Jeremy Morgan
Hello, I have an extract I am looking to automate with the task scheduler. However, I am looking to also automate a run once a consolidation completes and also have the ability to cancel a scheduled export with a button if it is set at a time when a consolidation is taking place. Is it possible to accomplish this?
Hi all, we have a process to format data in the csv before it's imported into OneStream. This seems like extra work and I want to create a complex expression in the Data Source to remove this step. My excel formula is =VALUE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(H9,"¥",""),",","")).... all the way down for column H or the Amt field import. I've tried putting this in the complex expression but I do not have the dimensions defined properly.... does anyone have an example or suggestions they can point me towards? thank you!!!
Hi all, Every forecast cycle we get the same performance complaints from the same region group of users. They are always uploading massive amounts of data and refreshing massive amounts of data in the same workbooks using the XF functionality in Excel. To be clear, we have tried multiple times to convince them that they should be importing that data via CSV and advising that they will not get the same performance using the XF functions. We have also tried having OneStream re-index the databases before these cycles and we have regular daily app pool recycles. The OneStream data logs really don't show any significant refresh issues (less than 5 minutes usually) but the one user doing all this work is insisting that it's taking hours and hours to finish refreshing and they often have to close and reopen Excel and re-launch OneStream. We have raised multiple tickets and OneStream does not see any back end issues. We have looked at their Excel preferences and tried differe
Hello there,We are having an issue when using the Drill Down option from a Cubeview, and it's that after getting to a base data cell within the Drill Down window, and then trying to navigate to stage using the "Load Results for Imported Cell", the results window is displayed empty: The workflow that is being used it's a simple Import, Validate and Load, that retrieves the imported data from a Connector and there is no further data processing once it's in the Cube. From the Workflow Page we can use Drill Down and Drill Back just fine.Any ideas of why is this happening?Thank you.Oriol
Hello, We have a custom business rule that does some account reversing we run centrally at the end our month end process. using a dashboard We're putting in a new lease process within OneStream and was wondering, is there a way instead of giving the front end user more steps within their workflow, that I can attach the business rule to the import step and once they run the "Load and Process" portion of the import step, the business rule will run? Thanks, Will
Hi allWe have come across an issue where the default load Method for workflow does not change from "replace" to "replace all time". Anyone has experienced the same issue?Thank you for your feedbackNouria
Hello everyone! Quick question. Does anybody know how to change the Load Method for a ProcessDataTable through the connector code? We have a dashboard where the user wants to choose the Load Method with a radio button. We are able to pass that parameter to the code and change the api.LoadMethod property to Append but the load still executes as Replace. The above works if we change the load method directly in the WF, but not from the code
Hi Community, I’m working on a data load in OneStream and need to enforce two validations on the Entity dimension during the upload process: Entity name must end with _PX. Entity’s metadata Text field (e.g., Text1/Text2) must contain PSC^. (Basically Prevent data from being loaded to anything but a PSC entity) Currently, I see the Logical Expression and Override Settings on the Data Source column, but it seems limited to simple operators like Ends With or Like.My question is: Can this be achieved using a complex expression directly in the Data Source column settings? Or do I need to implement this as a Transformation Validate rule or a Data Source Business Rule? If a Business Rule is the right approach, could someone share a best-practice snippet for checking both conditions (including metadata lookup)? Should I create a conditional rule and add to the logical expression above?
