Hi all, I'm triggering a DM job using the REST API. The job is running a business rule. I handle errors in the BR but I need to actually return the success or failure as a response to the postman request. Right now, I get a success message no matter what happens in the BR. Thanks in advance!
Hi. I have a lot of changes to consolidation percentages (example : the consolidation % changed in 2024M9 to 60%) to various entities with a time stamp (i.e. history already has default was 100%, then 2023M1 it changed to 80%). However, I cannot just slot the changes into an xml file and load it otherwise it will wipe out the history of the consolidation percentages for those entities and the only info remaining will be the latest change loaded (2024M9 at 60%). Is there a better way to do it than to extract all the ownership information and manually add a new line per entity in the xml extract.
We have some group of base customers under different parents with text property, and we are planning to block input to those customers in all the input forms if we use dimension property Allow input 'false' then it will block input but after that update during close FPA team should do adjustments for those Customers. Can we do it with irrespective of that dimension property false update. Is there any option that without updating input forms (CUBE VIEWS) with customer (UD2) parameter or with the help of business rule can we override that dimension property Allow input 'True' by running DM Step for certain customers when we give them in DM JOB and revert again to false after inputs through DM step. Please suggest your solutions.
I have created an SQL table editor component for one of my applications. One of the columns in the SQL table can be updated by the user, and is tied to a parameter that is used as a dropdown by the users. However, if the user tries to update that column in two rows to the same value only the first row will be saved, but if the two rows are populated with different values from the linked parameter the table is saved just fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone discovered a workaround? Thanks, Tom R
Hi all, I'm currently developing a dashboard that will likely be used by multiple users at the same time. Users will be able to set some initial parameters within the dashboard, and click on a button that will trigger a BR that will return some output rows within a table in the database. After the process is complete, the user will be able to see the output rows through the following SQL Table Editor:the parameters that you can see in the "Where Clause" are literal parameters that are set from within the BR when it is triggered by the user (using BRApi.Dashboards.Parameters.SetLiteralParameterValue()), and their value depend on the initial parameters that the user selected in the dashboard. The problem is, I saw in some posts within the forum that literal parameters are "common" to all users, so every time one user will click the button and launch the process, the literal parameters will be changed. This is a problem, because we expect users to use the dashboard simultane
I'm driving myself a little crazy at the moment. Sometime in the last few days, I stumbled across a Community Post (I think) about how to use System.Reflection to programmatically list OneStream API object methods, overloads, parameters, etc. At the time I saw it, I thought "Oh, that's cool!" and remembered that if I needed to find it again, I just needed to search for "Reflection" in community posts. Well, for the life of me, I can't find the post again.Does anyone know of a post that describes how to use System.Reflection's methods, like GetMethods on OneStream API objects? I know I'm being lazy and could work out the code myself, but what I read had already worked out the BindingFlags and other parameters on the calls that were specific to OneStream.
Hi everyone, I'm working on a Business Rule in OneStream and could use some guidance. I’m trying to build a rule that targets a user-defined parent rollup within the Entity Dimension. The goal is to automatically remove the relationship between that rollup and any base-level child entities whose name or description contains a specific keyword — in this case, "YS". Here’s what I’m aiming for: The rule should accept a parent rollup name (e.g., Global_excl_YS) It should loop through all children of that rollup If a child is a base member and its name or description includes "YS", the rule should "remove the relationship" Parent or intermediate rollups should remain untouched I’m planning to implement this as an Extensibility Business Rule, but I’d love to hear if anyone has done something similar or has tips on best practices for metadata manipulation in this context. Thanks in advance! ' Define dimension and parent rollup as parameters or hardcode here &nbs
I am trying to write a query to the FxRates application table however, I cannot find a function to obtain the FxRateId as seen below. I see that the ID changes based on the year and not just the rate type.
Hi everyone, Just hoping for a few pointers in case others have come across this before... I have a "Group Overlay" workflow set-up specifically to post central adjustments at year-end (for tax purposes mostly). It works fine as it has a specific workflow channel assigned meaning that the group tax team can review numbers submitted by businesses after they have been completed and then overlay group adjustments without having to unlock/uncertify the indiviudal workflows. However, I want to be able to run confirmation rules within this group adjustment workflow. I haven't got this working, here are some of the things I've found. Has anyone else done something similar? If so I would welcome your ideas! - The adjustment workflow has no entities assigned to it, but it does have "Can load to unrelated entities" option ticked" to allow adjustments to any entity in the group - Because there are no assigned entities, the normal confirmation rule logic needs some tweaking I think as there are no
I'm building a Data Management step to export data, and I need to set the time filter dynamically. For example, if the scenario is Budget_Final_FY26, the export should include 5 years of data: the current year, plus current year +1 through current year +4.The challenge is that I don’t see a way to directly use “current year” in the time filter. My idea is to substitute the time filter with an XFBR string that pulls the current year and applies it dynamically.Has anyone implemented something similar, or is there a recommended approach for handling this?
This was originally a question. It took a while to figure out, so to save someone else the hours of trial and error, here is the process I use in detail, start to finish, to run a Workspace-based Data Management step in a Workspace Assembly business rule. Here's a How-to step by step:List of abbreviations used below:DM: Data ManagementWS: WorkspaceMU: Maintenance UnitBR: Business RuleAS: Assembly1. Workspace:Set the NameSpace Prefix - this is what gets filled in at runtime for __WSNameSpacePrefix2. Assemblies: Note these properties 3. Create the Assembly Business Rule:Create an "Extender" business rule, this is done by right clicking files and selecting "Extensibility Rules"Add some test code, to verify correct configuration, such as BRApi.ErrorLog.LogMessage(si, "Hello from the new extender!"then code the way you would any other extender4. Create The Data Management Group: Create a DataManagement Group in the same workspace that the Assembly that has your business rule is in 5
Our cube view cash flow reports were built using an account hierarchy and includes parent cash flow accounts to rollup base accounts. The cash flow reports were originally built on a YTD basis. Later the view parameter was changed to also generate cash flow reports on a QTD or MTD basis. The QTD and MTD cash flow reports reflect the correct calculated movement of balance sheet accounts for the parent cash flow accounts, but still reflect YTD calculated movement for the base accounts. Any income statement accounts included in the cash flow reflect the correct YTD, QTD or MTD amounts for the parent cash flow and base accounts. OS Community - Does anyone have a similar cash flow report build including options to generate the report QTD or MTD and solved obtaining QTD or MTD balance sheet base account calculated movements?
We are designing a planning solution where overlays will be used across accounts with very different levels of dimensionality. For example:Some accounts have minimal dimensionality (straightforward base members for input).Others require navigating through multiple UDs before reaching the base intersection.Ideally, I’d like users to be able to choose their drill-down path until they reach the correct base intersection for data entry.Has anyone implemented a design pattern or approach that balances these differences effectively?
We have a business rule that, after loading data, runs a Process Cube. When using this with the batch harvest API, it behaves pretty much as expected in that, after the process is complete, it returns a status and execution time and all that. However, I have grown to dislike the file clutter that results from years and years of harvest file processing and I'm updating the code to use the BRApi.DataQuality.Process functions. Both ExecuteProcessCube and StartProcessCube can be used for this with the main difference being the objects needed to kick them off and the object types they return: Start returns a TaskActivityItem and Execute returns ProcessCubeProcessInfo. Superficially, I could walk away from this effort right now and it would work but I've noticed one really annoying issue: neither returns a real status of the process itself. This appears to be because our Process also runs a Calc. Both Start and Process "succeed" nigh-instantly while the Calc continues to run for five more mi
The Question Text Column scroll bar in my Certification Questionnaire is not working. I have a long question text which does not fit the default cell size. The scroll bar is not clickable/draggable, so my reviewers aren't able to view the entire question during certification. The workaround I have is just to expand the column size so that the text fits into the cell. I am wondering if anyone has the same user experience or has a solution to get it to work? My current software version is 7.1.3.
Dear Community Members,Has anyone experienced information in the log being redacted. I found this in the latest documenation. However, i see no pattern of what is considered sensitive. I have a data table dump in the decimal positions are redacted.I am logging the keys and values of two dictionaries. in both dictionaries the value is an integer. One value is shown while the other value in redacted. Both values come from a text member of a dimension member. In other cases i am logging the name of the business rule and the name of the function. Sometimes the RULENAME is redacted, sometimes it is not. Which leads me to believe that the logic thinks that the name is sensitive?! Is this sensitivity controllable maybe on the app settings on the server? Cause it seems overly sensitive or plainly wrong in determining what is sensitive and what is no.
We have several applications calling OneStream data adaptor via Rest API. Very frequently and randomly the connection fails with a 500 error. If we wait and retry the connection is successful. We have not been able to find the root cause. We observed that when the Rest API has 2 entries in the Log Activity table in OneStream the connection is successful. The screen shot is from the Logon Activity table in OneStream. Every so often the connection fails with a HTTP 500 Error and we observed that only one the set is entered in the table. Have any of you encountered this type of issue.
Hi Folks, We're just starting on a OneStream SaaS implementation to replace HFM. We're far from the stage of actively working on any data integrations yet but I'm already starting to think about how things will hang together and how data will potentially flow in the future state of things. Two of the downstream feeds that we currently receive in our HFM system are companies which are current users of OneStream SaaS. Just thinking at a very high level for now, does anyone know if there are any ways downstream systems could submit data to us without punching out to the internet e.g. using Azure Private Link service and staying within the Microsoft network (or some other networkey magic)? High level pretty picture :) Obviously we wouldn't be able to configure this ourselves as this is SaaS but I'm interested to hear if anyone else has any experience exploring this or anything similar with OneStream SaaS and if anything like this is even possible in the SaaS world. Regards Craig

Hello, I wrote a simple formula for Wip Rev that checks the amount in Earned Revenue (that is calculated too) and calculates the difference between its current value(POV) and prior year end value(POVPriorYearM12) - this part worked, but then I added a conditional statement saying that if Earned Revenue is zero then Wip Rev should be zero too else run the math (POV - POVPriorYearM12) and only first part works, but math doesn't. I tried a similar statement for the dynamic calc and I was successful, but here no. Please let me know if you can look at the statement and suggests what is wrong... thank you
Hi all,I have an Import, Validate, Load workflow that hasn't been used for a while. I'm trying to load in data and I'm getting invalid intersections at the validation stage with the following error message:"Data Cell is read-only because Parent Workflow Profile 'Workflow Name' has no active Input Profiles for the Workflow Channels that are assigned to the Data Cell's Account and/or UD member. Entity = Entity, Account=Volume, Origin=Import"Note I've use italics instead of using our entity names and workflow names. We didn't have this issue before so I'm not sure what has changed. The parent workflow profile stated in the validation message isn't actually the parent workflow profile so I'm totally confused. There is another post on this but I didn't understand the resolution. Could somebody please tell me what I would need to do to fix this? Thanks!
If I have a dashboard made up of several Embedded dashboards, all of which need to have access to a Supplied Parameter,do I need to include it as a component of the top dashboard only OR,do I have to include it for all embedded dashboards (that require the related parameter) also?Steve
We are in the design and build phases of OneStream and it is really important to me that we get the foundation right and use OneStream the way it was intended to be used. What are the recommended design solutions in OneStream to enable users to quantify the FX translation impact separate from performance when comparing one period of time to another (e.g., YTD actuals versus budget or full year latest forecast versus full year budget). Hi HFM we do this through recalculation scenarios. For example, we have the following budget and forecast scenarios. 14 forecast scenarios - one for each month, one to recalculate the prior forecast at the most recent actual rates (used for comparisons against YTD and month actuals), one to recalculate prior forecast at the forecast rates (used for full year comparisons to prior forecast and full year budget). The latter two get overwritten every month with the latest previous forecast data and new rates. 3 budget scenarios - one
I am trying to determine if we are using any REST APIs. We were instructed to run a logonandreturncookie via Postman.https://documentation.onestream.com/1384528/Content/PDFs/REST_API_Implementation_Guide.pdf I followed the instructions in page 26 and ran into this error message: Error: Invalid character in header content ["Authorization"] I entered "{{webapi_access_token}}", similar to the screenshot in page 27. I hovered over the token and saw a message stating it's not defined. Where should I set up this variable or is there an issue with my params/body?
Hi all,is there some documentation about BIViever's Calculated Fields ? I cannot find info/examples about:aggrfilterjoinRuleI need to compare values against the value of a specific row, but I'm not able to find a solution.Do someone faced the same challenge ? Do someone have more info about the above mentioned functions ? TIAregardsFabioG
