Hi all, Within our application, we have a requirement to be able to do restructurings. This means, on date A, a legal entity is owned by holding A, but on date B, it moves to a different holding company and is then consolidated under that holding company. Has anyone got this working, and if yes, could you share how? What I am running into right now: We can leverage org-by-period settings, but in that case for example opening balances become 0. Plus there is the complexity that you have to set the scenario consolidation view to Periodic, which brings challenges in rolling forward balances where there are no movements. This also means we cannot keep the consolidation setting to standard which means the performance is degrading significantly.  So the question is, did anyone get this scenario workign, and can you share how? I'm new to WS assembly - trying to get a simple example of setting up an xfbr and use it in a cubeview but not successful. Here's what I did - what did I do wrong?1. Set up XFBR String Service:2. Then set up factory: 3. Then added to my maintenance units & workspace4. Added to cv:=> I get this error. Not sure why it is looking for the service factory in default.   I followed the design guide, tried all the following syntax, none have worked:XFBR(Workspace.Reporting.myAssembly.Time, SayHello)XFBR(Workspace.Current.myAssembly.Time, SayHello) Thank you. 

I'm struggling with something elementary here. I can't seem to properly reference a business rule in my data managment step. I've tried a couple of options - explicit workspace name and 'Current' which should both work, but I consistently get the error:Error processing Data Management Step 'MyDMStep'. Business Rule 'Workspace.MyWorkspace.MyAssy.MyBR' is invalid.orError processing Data Management Step 'MyDMStep'. Hi all,Trying to delete an unnecessary member from the metadata but it won't delete due to 'existing' data.  There isn't actually a value where it says a value exists but OS believes there is data there in currencies that are non-local.I've tried the DM Clear Data job but it only seems to see the Cube, Entity, Time periods and Scenario.  It appears to ignore any other dimensions specifications I include in any of those filters (i.e. additional UD dimension specifics).  Which makes it too broad for our requirements.  Tried to test this and even though the DM job succeeded for that cube/entity/scenario/time period, it STILL thinks there's data there and won't allow the deletion of the member.Hoping someone out there has run into a similar situation and has some suggestions to offer on how to truly clear a member completely so it can be removed from the metadata.  Thanks

Hi, Is there any option to freeze column in cube views? one of our report has column called it as "Grand Total" so we want freeze this column.

I accidentally deleted an entire cubeview when trying to delete a row within.  Is there an easy way to recover cubeviews or does the entire platform need to be rolled back to a time before deletion?   

Dear Users: I had just one user who was not able to get their instance of Excel Add-in 8.4 for various workbooks. However, if the very same workbook was emailed or shared with another users it worked just fine.  The main issue is that the user could not "REFRESH" the sheet. Eventually, the Excel add-in started to work.  Has anyone experienced this in the past?  What was the solution? Managing Sold Entities Without Losing Consolidation Results.Hi Community,We’re looking to hear how others handle this in OneStream:When an entity is sold in a specific period (e.g., 2025M5), the requirement is to:✅ Retain its posted journal values in group consolidation❌ Prevent any further use of the entity (journals, data loads, forms)The challenge we've encountered is that setting In Use = False — even after journals are posted and consolidation has been run — can cause OneStream to drop that entity’s data from the group during future reconsolidation. An advanced customer has many Cube View reports using parameters that I cannot locate anywhere in their application. -They parameters do not appear to be part of any XFBR because there are no BRs being used in the CV report. -They parameters do not appear to be part of a bound parameter or linked cube view as I extracted all reports and performed a lookup and I wasn't able to locate them. Here are some examples: |!account!| |!entity_Var!| |!scenario_Var_2!| The odd thing is the parameters worked in my local application. The prompt the report gave when running is simply “account” for the Account-related parameter. Has anybody seen these before? Are they system generated?

Hi, I have recently reduced a PROD data table by several million rows but the Allocated table size has remained largely unchanged, as the reduction in the Used portion has just shifted to an increase in the Unused portion and the elastic pool usage has also remained unchanged. I'm assuming that if I run an app copy of PROD into DEV then OS will try to copy over the entire elastic pool size rather than differentiating between what is Used and Unused and only copying over the Used portion. A shrink and reindex has been suggested as a solution to reduce the Unused portions but I have been advised that running a shrink is a risky move as it can cause performance issues. I therefore wanted to check whether a shrink and reindex in the PROD environment, at least during monthly maintenance, is widely used and generally benefits the environment rather than being detrimental to it?

Hi community, Have you experience users reporting Excel Addin Ribbon disappearing from the Excel Menu ? The problem behavior is:  User reports that OneStream Excel Add-in disappeared We are able to mark it as enable again After some time the add-in gets disabled again for the same user We have tried to reinstall OneStream Excel Addin, and the add-in get enabled, but it disabled itself after some time. Users use different ERP Add-ins, it may be a compatibility issue, have you any remediation for this cases ? Regards!Carmina

Is there a syntax to lookup the description of an entity that is NOT the pov entity?  In the example below the pov_entity is XXXXXXX_Canada, but the entity I want to pull a description from is 00250.  I am writing a rule in a ud8 member to try to pull this.Thank you,

Has anyone tried or had experience creating a report book for application reports? basically what I am trying to do is to create a report book to run for the Data entry audit(single user) report, when running the report book, it will loop through specific Users for "Actual" Scenario, and for time period by quarter instead of month. right now with the default set up of application, if I want to run this report for multiple users and multiple period, it's a very manual process so trying to see if there is a better way of doing this.   Thanks!

Hi all, Does anyone know if the standard OS security audit or application dashboard reports present a way to determine all of the objects within a OneStream application where a particular Security group is used?For example - let's say I have a grp called "E_WF_specialUsers" and I want to better understand where this group is used within my application (i.e. is it attached to the display group of certain user dimensions, or account members, or workflows, cube views, etc.). I can't seem to find anything that does this within OS but want to make sure I'm not missing something here. Thanks in advance, K.

Hi all,it's not clear to me the meaning of the Culture field in User's configuration.I thought that changing the culture (eg: from English to Italian) would change all the "core" labels of OneStream (I mean menu options, labels, etc...).Instead, looks like that everything keep on being presented in English.Is this right or my (local) installation is missing some package/configuration ? Thanks

Hi,through XFString I am able to get a string defined in the same Maintenance Unit (or in another MU of the same WS).Looks like is not possibile to grab the String from another WorkSpace, even if it's marked as "Shared".Am I right or am I missing a clue ? ThanksFabioG

Hi,         I am trying to build a Drill back functionality in one of data source connector business rules. I tried looking into One Stream reference guide on Data Source connector business rules and I found below reference for nested Drill back functionality. But practically when I tried to drill back on a drill back detail row, OS returns following message. The click on the drill back is not even calling the connector business rules any more. Can someone help me with the ways to code with nested drill backs. I tried to follow the examples from Golfstream application. Hi ,Good Day!I'm currently building a dashboard in OneStream that allows users to select all possible points of intersection for dimensions and their members. Once selected, they can click a button to export the data to a file share using a Data Management export sequence. This part is working well, and the dashboard is complete.Now, I want to enhance it by capturing user details (who entered the data) and the timestamp of when the data was entered for each point of intersection. I'm wondering if there's an existing OneStream Marketplace solution or feature that supports this kind of tracking and logging.Has anyone implemented something similar or come across a solution that could help with this?Thanks in advance!

Trying to confirm if the spreadsheet tool in v8.5 is working for anyone in the following manner...Created dashboard with the spreadsheet tool.  The page renders fine...However, when doing something as simple as Save As, the following message is generated.Excel file is defined in the configuration.  One client mentioned this, so I tested this on another client with the same results.Heard this is fixed in v9.0.  Is this correct or am I missing something?Thanks for any input!Ed Puente

I'm trying to export data via a Data Management step.I am running into frequent errors stating: Error processing Data Management Step '[DM STEP NAME]'. Unable to create or open file '[FILE PATH]'. The process cannot access the file '[FILE PATH]' because it is being used by another process. My servers were unoccupied as no tasks were running in the background in the task activity log. I've also tried via DM sequence and selecting my own server which did not help.
