Can we install two versions (8.2 and 8.4) of OneStream desktop client and OneStream excel add-in client in the same machine ? Later on if i want to uninstall 8.2 does OneStream have an uninstaller using which i can un-install 8.2 Any inputs around this will be highly appreciated   

Dear Community, I didnt find a good hint wihin the reference guide. So, I hope you can help me.  I know a Quick View POV is always set to be the default, which is set in Onestream. Otherwise I see, that Account or time can´t be adjusted. It is always the same "starting quick view" which is visible. So, I wanted to know if there is a way to set the POV to be different per each user or user group.  In example, if a finance user starts a quick view, he/she should initial see, what they want to see. Meanwhile an administrator should see something different, without the need of changing the POV.  Do you know if it is possible to change the initial POV? Or is the initial one always the same?Best Regards, Markus

Hi Everyone, We need to understand the scenario settings due to which we can avoid the data backing off (shown as derived, not stored value) for the next month when we enter a data in a periodic view. After digging up the community, we found some posts redirecting to change No Data Zero View for the scenario to YTD but that still doesn't solve this behavior. Is there any particular in the application/scenario where I can change to show no activity months as "0"?Thanks!JackLacava 

We are having typical issue with Metadata, it's a single currency application. The Auto Translation for Currencies property is Blank and doesn't have any value. But when I check System diagnostics I notice that for all Entities(~12k) this property is having value and there is a warning. If I go into the property and see there is no value in the Stored Value, but "Remove Stored Item" property is enabled which is saying that there is some hidden value. I had to manually goto each and every member and click on "Remove Stored Item" property to get rid of the value. Reloading the metadata with this property set to BLANK is also not helping solve the issue. How can this be resolved without manually updating each Entity. Any thoughts anyone ?

Hello,   We have recently upgraded to v8.   With the new security properties on Adjustment Workflow Profile disabled, users still don't have the "Quick Post" button after creating a journal :  -Prevent Self-Post = False  -Prevent Self-Approval = False   Users have access to the 3 journal steps :  -Journal Process Group -Journal Approval Group -Journal Post Group   Does anyone know how to activate the Quick Post functionnality ?  Thank you.   Regards, Tahina

We are building a Consolidation application with 10 Base Entities and approx. 2000 Cost Centers. Each Cost Center is valid for only one Entity. In Other words a group of Cost Centers are valid for One Entity and the same group of Cost centers are NOT valid for any other entities. Given this requirement is it best approach to create Separate cubes for the 10 Entities and apply Extensibility on Cost Center dimension with Valid Cost centers for the Entity OR Create One Cube and apply UD Constraint on Entity with the Group of Valid Cost Centers ? Appreciate any thoughts or recommendation between these 2 options.  

We currently have our 'User Inactivity Timeout' setting to 30 minutes. We have users that are being 'timed out' in the excel add-in before that time threshold.  Question- What constitutes an 'action' for HSGET formulas or Quick Views that would reset the 30 minute timeout? - Refreshing a sheet with no change in Metadata selections? - Refreshing a sheet with just HSGET formulas? Hi,  I've been offline during few weeks without using OneStream on my localhost application, and now, when I try to connect to my localhost again, I can't login:  Of course, I don't change my password during these weeks. How can I reset my password? We have thousands of IDs in our PLP register. Let's say ten of them are named Aaron. I can sort the register on the FirstName to see all of the Aarons on the first page. If I apply a filter to the column to only show people named Aaron, all ten of the Aarons display. However, if I sort the register by last name, for example, and filter on Aaron in the FirstName column, zero show up. If move to a page that has, say, one or two of the Aarons, then filtering on Aaron will return just those. The column doesn't use a parameter but even columns that do use parameters behave the same way. The filtering for all of the fields is effectively broken. Is there some new system-wide setting I should know about? Is there a workaround? Or, am I just enjoying a very strange bug?

The Data Cell is read-only because the Parent Workflow Profile 'FR Food HR' has no active Input Profiles for the Workflow Channels that are assigned to the Data Cell's Account and/or UD member. Entity=entityname, Account=Accountname, Origin=Forms.  

Hi We have an account dimension with extensibility applied. Say first level is Forecast where we capture 4 digit accounts. Forecast is then extended to Actual where we capture 8 digit accounts. Now the requirement is to move one of the 8 digit accounts to Forecast level.  Is this even possible and how can we do this if yes? Thank you, Mikki

Hi, the OneStream XF design and reference guide mentions that: "If an administrator wants the range of source Accounts from 11202 to 11209 to map to Account 12000, then he/she would enter 11202~11209 under Rule Expression with ~ as the separator."   What if the Accounts in the range have leading or trailing characters? Let say all my accounts start with A_ I have tried to use the the following expression: A_11202~A_11209, but it does not seem to work. Any suggestion? Thank you  

I thought I knew how to solve this but it is not working as expected. We are trying to prevent a Child Group of users called "App_Administrators" from changing System Security. We want them to be able to still 'view' security roles, groups, and users -- just not be able to make any changes. The Group called App_Administrators is a child group in the Administrators Group (which is needed because we want application administrators to be able to run OSD System Snapshots on demand). Since the child group is part of Administrators, we thought all we needed to do was create an Exclusion Group that effectively takes App_Administrators back out of Administrators and apply it to the ManageSystemSecurity roles (there are three of them). After creating the Exclusion Group and applying it to the following Roles  ManageSystemSecurityUsers,  ManageSystemSecurityGroups,  ManageSystemSecurityRoles, we found that the security group App_Administrators members could still modify security

I'm trying to add several non-financial accounts for metrics.  I've loaded my historical data in at periodic.  I want to be able to see the annual totals by account but instead T#2023 is showing me the December numbers and not the total.  What am I doing wrong?!

Hi, How does it work the C#Aggregated? What entity property does it take into account for aggregating? We are aggregating two different entity structures but we are not obtaining the same data. We have the same entities in both structures but one of the has duplicated two entities: - one of them aggregates OK. - the other, does not. Regards,

Hello, I have imported data from a csv file with unit price adjustments. Data is transformed to use the correct UD2, UD5 with One to one transformation. In some cases there should be a second data record created with a different UD2 and UD5, is it possible to do that with a complex expression, or should I make a calculation after import in business rule or with a member formula? kind regards Ben

Hi everyone, I have a question related to the upload of a new dimension hierarchy through an XML file. I currently have a file excel with the whole hierarchy for each dimension that I keep updating based on my client requests. I noticed that when I upload the file, the system merges the current version of the hierarchy with the previous one. This does not work for me because I would need the old hierarchy to be replaced by the new one.  A possible solution could be to manually delete the hierarchy members before the upload of the new hierarchy, but this would delete the data that has been loaded already. I would need a solution to just overwrite the current relationships between the members of the hierarchy without deleting them. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance!

Hi OneStream Community - I'm trying to create a rule to apply a specific % to the base entities of a specific region. To keep it simple, say we have 5 regions and I want to create an account that takes their PBBIT and multiplies it by a % that is different for each region, and I want it to calculate it at the base entity level, of that region. Hello, You can add a sample file in OS for a delimited or fixed data source type.I cannot find where to find it in OS database in base64. I had a look at the [ParserLayouts] table, but i can now find anything more...Do you know where it is hiding?Thanks

Hi OneStream Community, I hope you are all doing well. I am currently working on a project where I need to create a dropdown in a specific cell within the OneStream SQL Editor, and the values for this dropdown should be dynamically based on the value of another input parameter. Here's the situation: The SQL Editor only accepts delimited list parameters. I need to dynamically populate this delimited list parameter based on the value selected in another input parameter. For example, if the user selects a country from the first parameter, the second parameter (the dropdown) should display a list of cities from that selected country. I am struggling to find a way to dynamically feed a delimited list parameter based on the value of another input parameter. Could someone please guide me on how to achieve this? Any help, examples, or pointers to relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
