Reporting

Dear community, I currently have an html document which is located in the file Explorer under "Documents/Public" folder. I am trying to get this HTML document to be presented into the components, embedded in a dashboard. However, with either a Web Content component or a File Viewer component (which will pinpoint to this specific file in Application Database File, as soon as I open the dashboard, it will load the html page into my default browser... I am using OS v8.1 ... is it a known bug or the expected behaviour ? What is even more strange, directing the Full File Name to a URL will correctly open a document in a dashboard ... Regards,

Hi everyone, I'm curious if there is any information on how to use the dynamic parameters in the dynamic dashboard service. I've created a form is dynamically generated from a SQL query - essentially the query results contain the text I want to display next to the component, the type of component, the bound parameter for the component, etc. I also have a field for "list of values" that I'd like to use as the display and value items for the bound parameter for Combo Box components. Here's a screenshot of the table that holds this information: Right now when I generate the form, parameters bound to text boxes don't have to exist in the maintenance unit and I can use these parameters to collect data and save to a table I created on the database. For the combo box parameters, however, I currently have to create those in the maintenance unit. It feels like there should be a way I can fetch the display and value items based on my List of Values column for a dynamically generated parameter,

The background fill color on the header is not filling the entire space when viewed in PDF. You can see on four of the six columns there is white space where the text is shorter. I need the teal color to fill to the bottom of the header space, and not just exist where the text is located. It works fine in excel and cube view. The issue only exists in report PDFs. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this? Report/PDF: Excel:  Cube View: Here's an example of a PDF that looks good because the length of the header text is more comparable across the columns:   I'm sure there's a way to accomplish this through a Custom Report Formatting rule or formula. I'm trying to avoid this, as I feel the formatting should already default to what I want. But, if I have to go this route, I will. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,We encountered an issue with the ABS function in a GetDataCell formula. Our cube view has two rows: the first tagged to account A#100, and the second with the formula GetDataCell(ABS(CVR(Row1))). The data displays correctly in the data explorer, but when using ‘Show Report’ or ‘Export to Excel,’ both rows show the absolute value of the original amount, which is not the expected output. Hi folks: I am searching for suggestions to improve reporting performance in dashboards. We have a couple of simple, executive dashboards that consist of 5-10 tabs of cube views. These work great for managing a common set of reports for end users.  Parameters are managed within the dashboard and persist when switching cube views (tabs); all that works great. However, users complain that it is slow to switch between cube views (tabs).  It appears that each cube view is re-run when switching tabs rather than simply displaying the data that was previously refreshed.  While most reports take <2 seconds to run, a few can take in the 8-15 second range which is deemed unacceptable. Are there any methods (formal or hacked together) for caching cube view results so that switching tabs simply displays already refreshed data rather than re-running the cube view? Thanks,   -db

I'm getting the below error message regarding location when trying to save a file with multiple XFGetCell formulas offline.  I've updated my preferences that an earlier question showed as a solution and refreshed the workbook (again) before attempting to save...but am unable to save the file without the formulas.  I've tried directly to my desktop, various folders, where downloads go.... I can't find an acceptable location.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have a cube view with a parameter on UD5 |!param5!| that I would like to put in a tabbed dashboard that has one tab for specific members in UD5. I though the way to do this would be to use the literal parameter values in the Dashboard Properties. I have tried entering the following:param5=member1and done this for 4 dashboards. The problem is, ALL the dashboards have the value of member4 since this was the last dashboard in the list to be rendered. If I swapped the order (1,2,4,3) then all dashboards have member3 as the filter. I have tried setting the parameter up as a literal and input parameter and it behaves the same way.Is there something wrong with the syntax? TIA,James  

Hi, I am trying to create a OneStream Book that contains data in Excel format instead of PDF from a dashboard component. Currently, the book uses a dashboard report component to generate a .xfDoc.pdfBook containing the data, which Parcel Service then attaches to a list of emails and dispatches in a zipped folder. I attempted to create a book that retrieves the data from the same dashboard component but in .xfDoc.xlBook format. However, every time I run the Parcel Service to dispatch the file in Excel format, the Excel file is blank. Could you please advise if there is a way to obtain the same data in the Excel attachment as we have in the PDF attachment? Thank you

Hi, A dynamically calculated KPI returns "Nothing" for future months in the Actuals and therefore I expected the line in the advanced chart to stop at the current month. However, it's not doing that, instead it is dropping to zero, creating a rather undesirable effect. I can't imagine that this is the default behavior of OneStream. Am I doing something wrong? Did I overlook a setting or is there another way to prevent the drop to zero for non-existing data?

Hi,Anyone on Version 8 who's actually tried to use this 'enhancement' feature in Cube Views?  We requested this on Ideastream a long time ago with a lot of support. I can see this command is now available in the header format dialog; however, it would appear that the only thing it does is change the header from left justified to center view.  There does not seem to be a way to actually 'merge' column headers, despite the fact that it's called "MergeAndCenter". Even the system documentation appears to confirm this behavior. Someone please tell me I'm missing something here and it actually is possible to merge column headers, because we really really wanted this feature. Thanks

Am i just missing something or is there not a simple way to produce a total row in a cube view? I have one row that pulls a list of accounts based on a combo box selection. When I try to use GetDataCell(CVR(Row1) it only brings me the total for the first line in that 'row'. I feel like there should be an out of the box option to grab the total of row 1 that may have multiple accounts. 

I am using header overrides on my columns to create three column expansion levels. I need to add conditional formatting based upon the header display text of "HPU" in this third expansion so that only sections with "HPU" in the header are set to three decimal places.  I do not want to build every HPU column separate from the others, as this would require the build of 108 columns, instead of 12 columns. The system will not let me call that third expansion level in my conditional formula. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Community, How can we override the GetDataCell method in rows? In columns, I have a Ud8 member with V#Annotation(which pulls text1 property from Entity). In the screenshot below, the rows displaying "ROW" and "OTHER" are not using the GetDataCell method in rows. However, the rows with " - " are using GetDataCell in the row member filter. I attempted to override the method, but Getdatacell is not being overridden. How can I display text in those rows?I need to display the text1 property in those columns.  

Does anyone know how to remove the highlighted crosshair label?  When adding crosshairs to advanced charts, the legend pops up, however, an additional field pops up that is not formatted accordingly.

I am trying to move a Narrative Report book from one environment to another and am struggling to do so without having to re-build it. Is there anyone on this Community that has managed to do so successfully? Would truly appreciate the steps you followed to get this done successfully.

All, Does anyone out there have users with massive (thousands of rows and dozens of columns) XFGetCell() workbooks that are seeing issues with the "Save Offline Copy" feature?  (and yes, I know.. they should not be creating these massive workbooks in the first place - that's not what XF() is meant to do) Here are the symptoms we're having: Regardless of what the seconds setting is (and I'm not even sure this setting applies to anything other than CV connections or quick views) and for some of these users, it's set to the max allowable, the 'save offline copy' often just spins and spins and never completes or eventually the user just has to 'kill' Excel and try again.  Happens at different times so no idea what server activity might be going on at the same time. Save Offline Copy appears to finish but the saved file now contains "#REFRESH" rather than the values  Unable to keep Formatting (this has to be set to False) - loses things like superscript or subscript fonts.I

Have a question regarding Cube view formatting. The client has a column for comments where large commentaries are written point wise which currently are seen as one line. They want to view the same like excel where comments are seen point wise one below another. How can the same be done. Also while exporting the report in excel the wrap text option in the Column cell format under excel only wraps the entire cell but it does not show the comment point wise one below another

We are looking to wrap text both at the header and also within an annotated cell in a cube view.  WE can't find a way to wrap text but this would be nice where our uses push explanations to OS through a  cube view. 

I'm new to WS assembly - trying to get a simple example of setting up an xfbr and use it in a cubeview but not successful. Here's what I did - what did I do wrong?1. Set up XFBR String Service:2. Then set up factory: 3. Then added to my maintenance units & workspace4. Added to cv:=> I get this error. Hi There, I am trying to create a book with a loop on our UD4 (project). I have it working but I want to add an IF statement to filter out tabs that contain no data. Referencing a previous post, I tried adding an IF statement to filter out an account (A#TotSGA in our case). This is the statement I am using, but it doesn't seem to work.
